Several island quarries provided this famous decorative black marble used for major projects, such as the Brooklyn Bridge, and several local buildings. Read more about Chazy Reef in this article provided by Wayside Exhibits. Fisk Quarry, also here on Isle La Motte, is an outdoor museum containing world renowned, 480,000,000 year-old fossils.
